Can You Really Do It?

People are fixating on the chart I provided on my website [Chart]. Let's put the $200 a month purchases that a Business Builder is making in perspective. The company I selected currently has 3 product lines; functional health beverage, supplements and skincare. All unique, effective and priced appropriately. My minimum monthly usage is:

Functional Health Beverage -----$ 125.00
Supplements ----------------------- $ 70.00
Skincare ----------------------------$ 75.00

Total -------------------------------$ 270.00

Now you figure what you spend on your health and beauty needs a month. I was born in 1939, feel like I'm in my 40's and look like I'm in my 50's. How do you feel?

Don't fixate on the chart look at you social network and see if you have 5 potential Business Builders and go for it.

Why does a Networking Company Network? And what's in it for me?

A traditional company produces a consumable product that they want you to purchase over and over. They spend about 50% of the retail price advertising and promoting that product. They hire the best writers, to produce the best ads, to convince you to buy their product.

The Direct Selling/Networking company that I selected has created a product that they feel is great. They decided to advertise and promote the product by giving 50% of the retail price of the product to people who consume, wholesale and spread the word about the product to their Social Network (family, friends, associates). People would rather purchase a product from people they know and trust. Friends telling you they had the best steak of their lives at a particular restaurant is far more compelling than a 30 second commercial showing a steak being thrown on a grill. Your Social Network will not mislead you about a product or business they feel will benefit you.

Neither will I. I know the products produced by the company I have selected are great, I use them. Join me.

What Networking is and isn't!

The term Networking is used interchangeably; Multilevel Marketing - MLM, Network Marketing. Person to Person Marketing, Referral Marketing and soon Social Media Networking. Networking is considered a part of the Direct Selling Industry. The term Direct Selling relates to the method of distribution, direct from the producer to the consumer. Networking refers to the method of compensation. Compensation is based not only on a persons own sales but on the sales of their “downline” those people who they sponsored into the business.

Networking provides all the advantages of the original franchise concept without the heavy initial investment and employees required of a typical franchise. A Network Marketing company will create a product, do all the administrative record keeping, manufacturing, warehousing, shipping and customer service while the independent distributor only pays a fee to join, usually less than joining Costco, and spends their energy building a wholesale business and an organization of business builders.

A misconception that many seem to have is that Networking is more like a chain letter than a business. Networking, like any business, requires an investment in time and money to make it work. Just like any business you have to select the right company, the right products and you have to treat it like a business.

I believe that the reason social networking incorporating Web 2.0 tools has not worked well for the Networking industry is because women in the age group of 34 – 64 make up the majority of the independent distributors. And in Web 2.0 social networking communities that group makes up less than 10% of those involved. Basically the women who will make it work are not there. Why? Because they are busy raising a family, taking care of the home, working a second job or being a single parent and doing everything. They social network but have not found the time to learn how to integrate Web 2.0 tools into their networking life. But they will and I want to help. Let me help you.

Networking A Home Based Business

Most of us involved in the Direct Selling/Networking Home Based Business Industry have tried to incorporate the WWW into our business, to date it hasn't worked all that well. That's all about to change.

Advances in technology, both communication and data processing, has made the Home Based Business dream a reality for more and more people around the world. The 100 billion dollar Direct Selling/Networking Industry with its sophisticated administrative and production distribution capability allows your social network to spread the word and receive compensation directly from the company, based on a percentage of total sales, without the mind numbing administrative burden, product warehousing and distribution cost of a traditional business or franchise nor the advertising and promotion costs often associated with affiliate marketing programs.


An individuals Network Marketing business can be small or very big depending on how much time and effort you are willing to put into it. I was recently talking with a gentleman about my thoughts concerning Web 2.0 and the effect it will have on our industry. We ended up comparing his personal Network Marketing organization with Microsoft. Microsoft has 80,000 employees. Microsoft produces annual net profits of about $175,000 per employee. My Associate has no employees, no formal office (he uses a phone and computer from home) and no administrative responsibilities. His annual net profit is about $2,500,000. How much capital do you think has gone into Microsoft to make it what it is? My associate paid $35 to join the Network Marketing company he is with.

Network Marketing has evolved the Direct Selling Industry model to allow you, the distributor, to concentrate on making money while the Network Marketing company concentrates on creating a product that will make it a billion dollar company. The company does all the paper work, manufacturing, warehousing, shipping, customer service, etc. allowing you to concentrate on leveraging your business builder partnerships into wholesale distribution networks.

Social Media Marketing is providing everyone with the opportunity to change the way the world and business work. You can be in charge of your life instead of hoping that the company you work for or the government will take care of you.
